VP of Business Development

John Robinson serves as VP of Business Development for Tekton Companies, bringing more than 20 years of experience across residential and commercial construction, real estate investment, and field leadership.

John holds a general contractor’s license and brings a dual perspective — field operator and investor — that is rare among construction superintendents. Having worked both sides of the construction-investment relationship, he understands what owners and developers need from a field team: clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and the discipline to keep projects moving efficiently even when conditions change.

His background in real estate investing gives John an unusual sensitivity to the financial stakes of construction decisions. He manages the work with an awareness of what schedule delays, quality defects, and subcontractor performance issues cost the project’s broader investment thesis — a perspective that shapes how he communicates with owners, contractors, vendors, and partners at every level.

John is also an ordained minister, and his background in pastoral leadership informs his approach to people management. He leads with integrity, builds trust deliberately, and creates field environments where trade partners are aligned, expectations are clear, and issues are surfaced and resolved before they become delays.
